If you’re hiking on Oahu, the best pre-hike meal is simple: carbs for energy, some protein for staying power, and enough hydration to start strong.

Hiking Hawaii Cafe is in Waikiki (lower lobby of the DoubleTree Alana). We’re open daily 6:45am-1:30pm.

Timing tips

  • 60-120 minutes before: eat a real breakfast (burrito, toast, oatmeal)
  • 15-45 minutes before: keep it light (acai bowl, smoothie)
